First Edition 1909 'Unwritten Literature of Hawaii' by Nathaniel Emerson

This rare 1909 book is the first one issued by The Bureau of American Ethnology pertaining to Hawaii...previously their works were restricted to American Indians. The book comes from the WILLIAM TYNDALE COLLEGE LIBRARY....has their sticker on front inner cover and also a stamp for The State Normal School - Cape Girardeau,MO. Stamps also on title page and on scattered pages through book. Tape to spine / internal page front & rear. Pages very clean and in good condition...no age spotting at all...looks to have never been used and the Library Issue Cards on back inner cover are blank. Excellent publication for those interested in HAWAII, the HULA, NATIVE FAUNA, SONGS & DANCES ETC.....with 40 Illustrations.Book size is 9.5 " (24.13 cm) x 6 " (15.24 cm)
