Published By George Routledge & Sons of Ludgate Hill, London in 1885 this is a FIRST EDITION. The volume is large at 665 pages with hundreds of illustrations and at least 8 Full Page Colour Plates ideal for framing.Book size is The back cover is detached and along with it the spine cover. The internal pages are remarkably clean and tidy for a book of over 120 years old....there is some age spotting but it is minor with most pages being clean and rip free. Most of the tales focus on the CRUSADERS era so the illustrations tend to be 'real Boys own' stuff'. This is a highly collectible old book in good condition for age and the cost to ad a new spine cover and re-attach the back cover would be pretty minimal.
