JUNGLE Islands First Edition 1930

A large book at 10 3/4" x 8" with 298 page and 90 photos and illustrations plus 2 maps. This is the story of the CRANE PACIFIC EXPEDITION and the "ILLYRIA" in the South Seas, by Sidney Nichols Shurcliff.The expedition was sponsored by the Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago, Illinois. Loose on the spine with spotting on some pages...mainly top of pages not affecting illustrations....generally a very clean and tidy book. There are some wonderful colour plates and great photos of bird / animals / native life as it was in the 1930's. A must for anyone interested in the Galapagos and Pacific Islands.
