Vintage Shipping Print RMS Awatea & SS Mariposa 1938

This large print is from the original painting by W.W. Stewart and is of the RMS Awatea (USSCo) overtaking the S.S. Mariposa ( Matson Lines) on 13th August 1938 at 2pm in the Tasman Sea. The print is under glass and in very good condition but the frame really needs replacing to do the print real justice. Measures 25" x 16 1/2". Items from the Awatea are somewhat rare due to her having only a very short lifespan having been sunk in World War Two. In her day she was regarded as one of the most luxurious and fastest liners of the times.
